Pandemic work stress: How I learned to deal with it – BBC News
It is likely that many people thought that the greatest difficulties they would experience during the pandemic would be coping with concerns of either getting the virus themselves or of close family or friends getting the virus. Many of us also had/have job and or financial worries.
What is becoming increasingly evident is that many people are struggling with social interactions and being around other people.
Our perception of risk is important.
We have conditioned ourselves not to be around other people, we have conditioned ourselves to believe that being in close proximity to other people = danger.
Many of us have had the opportunity to work from home and for some people this has been a mixed blessing. The frustrating commute to work has given us a little more free-time however for some this has been at the expense of missing out on social interaction.
As humans, we are social beings.
We thrive in the presence of others and within a community of likeminded people.
For some of us, it does not matter if our government tells us that is is safe to lift some of the restrictions we have been so carefully following. Our personal safety and that of our loved ones is our number one priority.
It is important to talk. Reach out to family and friends and express your concerns.
